My Uhh….stripped

Life isn’t complete until you’ve travelled the world. For me, this is my second time around. Growing up, I’ve lived in 6 different countries on 4 different continents. Unfortunately I was too young to enjoy the “overseas” and now that I’m older and making my own money, it’s time to get back to my wordly roots.

My first full self-funded trip overseas was in November 2006. I went to London for the very first time and Denmark for the 2nd time to visit a friend. My latest ventures as I write this takes place in July 2008. Travel destination: London, Denmark, Dublin & France (Lille – where my sister is getting married). Other places I’ve travelled to (at the expense of others) include China / Hong Kong & Pakistan. Other ASEAN destinations closer to home I’ve been to are Thailand & Singapore.

Despite having lived on planes and out of suitcases nearly my entire life, travelling alone is a whole new ball game. I still hate take-offs and landings. I am useless when it comes to navigating around an airport. I still don’t know how to pack appropriately and I am one of those quiet tourists trying too hard to blend in.

myuhhtravels.wordpress.com is a play on words for my name. The filler term “My Uhh…” sounds a lot like my name Maya.  “My Uhh” is also something people people say whilst trying to complete a sentence. In a nutshell, life isn’t complete until you’ve lived it. Am I right?

Look out for a series of “My Uhh” blogs…. ;-)

  • Hi Bazil! My show is still on. The program name has been renamed to SONIC BOOM 150 though and it’s still on Thursday nights but from 9 p.m. to Midnight! Spread the word! ;-)

Hey if I could afford a ticket to the US I will be there! It’s kind of soon for me to be making any kind of trip outside the Asian region at the moment. But who knows – next summer for another series of summer music fests…..
